You're absolutely correct Niki,
Even with the neck feeling as nasty as it does at the moment, it's still the sweetest sounding strat of the group. It is also showing me just how much my "Vintage" programs in the ADA rig were actually off by. This incidently, is also the reason I have the Vox gear out.
Between the Phantom, and the Strat, I'm able to A/B between my ADA and the vintage amps and actually dial them in better.
In response to the statement of how the Viscounts are bringing down some high dollar amounts, I really have'nt been looking at that. I've legged this guitar and amp around the world three times since the age of nine years old. I was'nt really thinking of selling it. I kept it because it has ALL the great Vox amp tones in it. From the Top Boost, to the MRB/ Brilliant Channel, Built-in Germanium Vox distortion, Reverb, and Termolo. I have the original footswitch that controls all of this stuff as you see in the pics, and the original Vox cover that goes over it.
Considering all the sounds it has, I can understand why they would be considered valuable today, even if they are Solid State. They do sound just like their tube counterparts.
I have more pics of this amp including the speakers, and the controls on the top and back.
I'm glad you like the gear though, I'm very happy with all my gear, but lately, I've come to realize that the ADA gear is getting to be considered "vintage" too. This is why I'm going to look into the Cyber-Twin(s).
I figure that after 20+ years of building and programming racks like these and bigger, I should find the Cyber-Twin a snap to edit and program, not to mention the novelty of it's portability

ADA's could be the now buy for profiteers  HAHA that would get the heads of 94 turning.

Harley, round the world since 9? were you a big selling child prodigy?
I'd love to hear that tale.

Niki,
If that's the case, then I would already be a millionaire, since I own more ADA gear than any one person usually owns. In fact, the full double stack version rack rigs using the Split Stack cabs is driven either by 4 of the Microtube 200 poweramps, or 8 of the Microtube 100's. I have eight of each one, plus several other poweramps and two of each preamp they ever made, including a 3 Tube Modded one, and a stack of the rackmount delays from them. I also own one of the original Flanger pedals from 1978
I've got plenty of ADA gear.
As for me, no, I was'nt anything THAT out of the ordinary. My Father was a career man in the Forces, and we moved around a lot. I went around the world once with my parents, then once again when I was in the Forces myself, then once again after I got out touring with my band at the time.
We were called "Baby's Third Leg" but I doubt if anyone would remember that. For that matter, who'd want to?
Talk about a mistake, I think admitting to being in a band with that name might be one that I just made.
Oh well, I laugh at it, so why should I deprive anyone else?

Trust me, past misdemeanors will find you out one way or the other.
I cant tell of most of my faux pas here. Still they make for fond memories now. Such is life and the many scenario's traveling with no commitments make. Put it down to the boldness of youth.

All you can do about them is smile and think que sera sera.

 So true Niki,

Yet I never think Que Sera Sera....instead, I think that if I had to do it all over again, I'd do it exactly the same way...just FASTER!

Then again Niki, you never know, we might accumulate a following of dedicated readers if the tales being told are juicy enough. Like the time when Cristie Canyon, straddled the neck of my red strat....

There aren't enough juicy tales on this family oriented site.

So some of the juice can't be too juicy.

My first gigs outside of the uk were in northern italy, Genoa, oct/nov 2003. Just after carlo guilani was shot by the italian police whilst protesting george bush's presence in genoa for the G8 summit. We flew out from stansted airport. Its the airport designated for handling hijackings and has a strong military presence. When i tried to get my zoom multiFX through in hand luggage i was detained, stripped and swabbed all over for traces of plastic explosive. Most embarrassing.
We landed at Genoa, the drummer and bass player had spent the previous night puffing on strange herbs. I decided to motor on through the airport and get to customs well ahead of them. Presented my passport and got through fine. About 200yards away from the checkpoint i was stopped at gunpoint and led to one side. The singer and manager both passed by shaking their heads then the rhythm guitarist, drummer and bassist were all herded towards me at gunpoint too. The drummer with his luggage was led into a room, the bassist started panicking that he may of dropped some of the previous nights substance into his guitar case and started searching the case and luggage. After a few minutes he was taken into the room too. They were both cavity searched. Jools and I were both unsearched.
When we finally got to leave our detainment we were taken to a friend of the promoters villa in the mountains just outside the city. A truly beautiful place. Vineyards growing down the mountain, the sea to the west, the city directly below and more mountains to the north. Chickens, sheep, dogs, it was a bit like a zoo.
The first gig was in a squat, unlike any squat i've ever seen before. It was a office or factory previously. The main hall had 16ft high PA speakers either side of the 6foot high stage, a dedicated control booth at the opposite end of the room. A 24track recording studio with isolation booths in a room to the right and a bar/kitchen to the left. We were taken to the floor above for our dressing room. Another bar/kitchen. Great bathrooms with brilliant showers. And a room packed with constantly running computers. I was told the computers were dedicated to planning the next revolution. Very well organized for anarchists, most anarchists are actually apathetic's.
It turned out the gig we played was for a organisation called 'the black block'. A dissident group that verges on minor acts of terrorism inside northern italy.

Anyhow the rest of the trip went with our usual high levels of idiocy. The day arrived to fly back to england. Jools the rhythm guitarist just dumped his guitar and luggage at the rear of our escorts car, then threw his coat over it whilst he went in search of more beer. A local pyrenees mountain dog (like a small bear) decided the odour of jools's coat was most interesting. After a while of very enthusiastic sniffing decided to relieve itself all over his luggage. We didnt tell him. Trying to get through customs leaving italy he was detained and questioned in italian. We heard him shouting 'no english i only speak english'. We had to leave him there in the end. When we finally met up with him again it turned out they suspected him of being an illegal immigrant into italy tring to get access to the uk. His passport was soaking wet

Theres plenty of other misdemeanours from europe japan and oregon that just cant be mentioned here.

Hey Gang,
I've been offline for quite a while. I had moved to an area where high speed internet wasn't available, although I didn't know that until I tried to get it. Anyway, I'm back in civilization again, and I'm sure I have quite a lot of reading to catch up on

Hello Everyone!

Okay....Life does throw us a few curve balls every now and then. I've been offline for the past few years, but that has changed now. Things seem to be getting stable again, and I'm getting back to the things I really love to do.

Lately my gear line up has changed a bit. but essentially remains pretty much the same sounds as I have had for many years. (No, you can't get too much of a good thing!) I've sold off a lot of my older vintage amplifiers, i.e. smaller Fender combos, Vox, Hilgen, and Gibson amps, but I picked up a NOS Fender Cyber Deluxe with a Cyber Foot Controller, and got all those tones back again! I also recently pick up a G-Dec-3 Thirty, and that is an extremely cool amp!
I still use a couple of old Silver Face Twins with my ADA gear, and it's still a great collection of guitar tones! I lucked out with the apartment that I moved into two years ago as I was fortunate enough to get a basement with it that has a room that I've been gradually turning into a personal studio! I'm hoping now, with the new technology I'm getting into, I can get some melodies posted online relatively soon!

It's good to be back on the Forum, and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!
