Hey OO,
Not a problem. I just finished some soldering work on her and just had her plugged in for the first time that I've seen her in over 10 years. She's still alive and well and singing like an angel.

Oh yes, she still has the pickups I gave her when I restored her the first time. The only things missing were the back cover for the spring cavity, and the HSC. Now she has a lot of battle scars that she did'nt have before. I'm getting ready to get some all-around pics of her. I'm going to have Before and After pics of her for when she comes back from the Luthier.

Thank you, I'm about to post pics of the one I just got back last night after a 10 year absense.

Grrrrrrrrr :x

I hate rechargable batteries. By the time I get to the point that I need to change to the spare set, they have depleted their charge also.

I guess I'll have no choice, the pics of this guitar will have to wait until tomorrow..... hmm there's a song in there somewhere...

Hi Gang,

Just thought I'd stop in and add a pic of my other Stratocaster. The pics of my other Fender guitars will be posted in the Telecaster, and Other Fender Guitars sections. Unless people here consider the HM Strat to be a Stratocaster as well.

Enjoy,

It was considered part of the stratocaster line when it was in production.

Hey Gang.

I've been offline for a while, sorry, it was unexpected. I'm back now.

I've got about a dozen pics of the old Strat that I just got back, but I have to get them uploaded before I can post them of her in here. I'll have that done by the weekend..

TwelveBar is correct, the HM Strat was introduced as the newest Stratocaster at the time it was brought on the market however, I'm inclined to also agree to a point that it is'nt really a "Stratocaster" per se. It's a good quality guitar no doubt, and plays very well and holds up to my agressive playing style very well. It just does'nt feel, or sound like a Straocaster. They should have given it a different name entirely. Maybe that's what they realized at Fender when they dropped the HM and introduced the Heartfield Talon series. Those guitars were basically the same as the HM series, but more ornate.

In light of the recent floyded strats outta mexico and the ever increasing number of HSS models id argue for a return of the HM. After all its exactly what it says on the tin. You know how its going to sound before you pick it up.

Hey Nikininja,

Actually, I think the Heartfields are a bit better quality than the HM's. Mine was'nt really such a hot guitar when I first got it. The Basswood body in this particular one was quite dead, or maybe it was the Kahler Spyder Whammy system that it came with. Something was killing the sustain quite a bit when I first got it. I fixed that by adding a brass plate to the back of the headstock. The rest of the guitar is still stock with the exception of a new 5-way switch. (Those in-line ones are junk)
