Good grief, you're right. Where's it gone - it was there just the other day...

Ask Brad: he knows what's what as far as the website is concerned.

Cheers - C

Hello Lion Hill,

I noticed on some of the superstore
websites it show the 70's strat
on closeout and limited color choice.

Frankly I'd have purchased a
highway one before the 70's strat
although there was a nice
natural ash option.

Cheers.

by the way it looks the highway one is takeing its last road trip.and its not because of sales. the problem i have with this is i
rather see the new american standard go befor the highway one.
i have a few 2007's and i will bet they will become a disireble strat
in the near future. is 2008 the end for the highway one?
fender wont tell ya until its already done.

No model stays on the books for ever. If you like it, buy it now.

Of course, the sooner they discontinue it the more valuable yours will become, in the fullness of time. Fender are trying to do you a favor on that one. That's how I view my beloved American Series.

Oh, and watch out for whatever Fender replace the HWY-1 with...

Cheers - C

Not an icecubes chance in hell Fender would discontinue the American Standard.

It would be interesting to see if the Highway 1 goes and what they replace it with. An American made Strat at that price is going to be a big seller.

No need to get in a huff. No ones trying to change your mind. I was just pointing out that the Am. Std. is the flagship product. It's not going anywhere.

No biggie if you prefer the Hiway and think everything more expensive is hype. Your opinion is just as valid as anyone elses.

nobody in a huff here. the daphne blue highway one with maple finger board
was discontinued last year and i found 2 of them on seperate sites and they were going for 1,400 each this is a good sign to whats to come in the future.

the american standard from what i see of it is a continuation of the standard stratocaster. They were made in the usa in 54, now they tell you they are.
I personaly cant see the name 'american standard going' anywhere on that basis. Although the spec will most probably change over the next 20 years.

shame about the highway1 going (allegedly), i always liked em. maybe its next incarnation could be the Highway to hell, or for uk export only the Highway M6 - junction 7.
Seriously the highway is a classy guitar, fender are gonna have to pull something out of the bag to replace it.

Well . . . . looks like I just made it. I don't see the Classic 70s Strat on the site anymore either. It was there a day or 2 ago, but I just bought mine a Natural 70s Strat reissue about 3 weeks ago. I might have just made it in time!

Fender is discontinuing the MIM Classic '70s Strat?!?

Well, if that's the case, then the Highway One is a good low-price option for a Strat with a lot of the '70s styling. At least, until they discontinue the Highway Ones. After that, the only choice is the Vintage '70s.

Does anyone remember the Highway One Showmaster HH?

If the Highway 1 is in danger of being discontinued? glad I got mine 3 month ago.

I really hope they would bring in more 70's models - they are my favorite guitars.
