Yesterday I bought a Black HSS Highway One Strat for $550 (almost new had a few minor scratches from people trying it out). Sounds great and was a long awaited upgrade (from the squire I have :? ).

Yea it sure is, my squire would hum a lot while this baby doesn't hum all that much. Now I just need a new amp  .

Thanks.

Just yesterday I took a trip to the Sam Ash in Atlanta and got me a Little Big Muff Pi (the originals are HUGE, I never knew they were so big) and tested it with my strat at home and it sounds great :D .

Now that you got a new Strat, it's time to practice more regularly. Use the enthusiasm that comes with getting a new guitar to spur you to practice more efficiently and if possible, more often. Congrats!

Thanks yet again.

I've been practicing nonstop after getting my guitar :D I know I need to get better anyways, so lately I've practiced abut 30 minutes to an hour, annoys my sister since she can still hear it through the walls and apparently having the master vol. on 2 on the amp is still too loud to her :?

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the new guitar!

I play for an average of 2-3 hours a day and I have been known to play my Strats unplugged. Anyways maybe try playing them unplugged once, you may enjoy that.

Thanks for the advice.

I've noticed when playing my highway one unplugged (every once in a while) I'll hear some sound resonating under the pickguard sounds a bit weird :)

That's why I don't buy them off the wall. They're r used and one is paying for new. If you get an acceptable price point consideration and are happy with the guitar, all the better.

Now I understand and accept the argument made by others that one may play several examples of the same guitar and they will all sound different, but the idea of paying top dollar after the headbangers have had their way with them is an anethma to me.
