Hello, I was surfing on YouTube and found this version of Little Wing what blew my away. Theres lots of speculation to whether its actually Jimi, and I'v gotta' say I'm not completely convinced. But I'm almost 100% sure its Paul Butterfield on the harmonica.
It'd just be interestiing to hear your thoughts on whether you think its Jimi playing:

April 15, 1968 Jimi did a show with B.B. King, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

Yea, I have heard of them three doing like a jam together.
Thanks.

I'm not 100% that it's Jimi, but it's close enough to believe it could be. Considering how many guitarists back then who could sound like that, it's most likely Jimi.

I've got bootlegs of that show. One 82 minutes, another 93 minutes
I'd have to give them a listen to see if that jam is on either.

didnt think it sounded like jimi. the rhythm playing is too on the beat, he was always a bit before the beat, and it doesnt sound like a bootleg of a jam, more like a badly produced demo.

I think it sounded like him, but some people say that it sounds to clean for his tone.

The lead guitar sounded like him, but who cant do a hendrix impersonation. Its the rhythm playing that jars me. Hendrix's rhythm playing was better than his lead playing, and instantly recognisable. Listen to the chugga chugga bit of the youtube clip, it doesnt sound like the hands that played all along the watchtower or up from the skies. Its far too uptight. Hendrix approached rhythm playing as a master, he never worried about it and his confidence in it shows.

It could of been another guitarist playing rhythm, i dont know, but that bit of rhythm on the recording wasnt him in my opinion.
