a complete waste of money in my opinion. got one today tried it in various positions of the headstock on various guitars and noticed no difference in sustain or tone. Either acousticaly or amped.
Has anyone else tried em, if so is it just me?

a clamp that fixes onto the headstock, its said to add mass and increase sustain.

at the current exchange rate i paid closer to $45.

who's the mug eh?

I've even tried fitting extra brass plates inbetween the foulfinger and the headstock.
Looks like the only way forward is to clamp the headstock to the bookcase.

So I guess the concept is that sustain can be maximized by clamping down on the headstock to keep it from vibrating? Maybe one of our resident Stratophysicists can chime in on the validity of this...

It kinda reminds me of those aluminum neck Hamer guitars (any one remember those? the neck was freezing in winter time). By having a solid neck, the guitars got great sustain -- but did not sound too good, though (IMO).

not at all. the thing is completely ineffectual. It makes no difference to tone or sustain at all. I was hoping it would be like when you rest the guitar on a piece of wooden furniture, how the note resonates through the extra wood of the furniture. Alas no, its garbage, it just makes the headstock heavier.

I've seen em and never thought they had enough bulk to make much of a difference.

You'll often see people wearing their capo fixed ostentatiously to the very far end of their peghead when not in use, and I sometimes wondered if that was an attempt to emulate the effect of the Fat Finger. I guess not, since, by the sound of it the Fat Finger has no effect!

Cheers - C
