hmm i tought there was more info over at Gilmourish but this is all i found:
Custom double-neck Stratocaster
- This was a guitar David made from spare parts as a project to be able to play both normal guitar and slide on the same instrument. The lower neck had higher action on the strings for slides. The guitar was used during the spring US tour in 1972 but later abandoned (Detroit, USA, April. 4. 1972).

and i would have bought the book if it were for sale in Norway but i can only get over the internet, and for some reason i cant order thing with my creditcard.....

Apparently, there's a picture of Dave and the doubleneck in "The Black Strat" book ... I wonder if the original neck from the black Strat was used on the doubleneck experiment?

Who's got the book? Scan the picture in, please?!!!

Finally......taken from the Phil Taylor book "The Black Strat"
This is the only picture I have ever seen. If you are a fan, I highly reccomend the book. It is incredible, and a great piece of Pink FLoyd, David Gilmour history. Thank you Phil for putting this book together!!!

All right! Thank you for that!

Mahogany body?

I wonder how heavy it was.

Thanks very much again.

Anytime. It was killing me to find out as well.

It must have felt like the days when I delivered the Sunday paper.

By the 4th house I was beat!!!

You know what double-neck guitars always remind me of?

Rick is a hoot. A very entertaining guitarist.

That's for sure.

What kind of case does that 5-neck go into!???

Man ...

You'd have to mod a 4x12 flightcase for that thing surely. when i was eighteen I had a cottage buisiness making cases for friends and locals. They were robust but weighed a tonne. If i'd made a case for the 5 neck, the roadies would of needed a forklift truck

Wow, I'd never seen those pics of Vai before, thanks.

I have seen Paul Gilbert with a doubleneck, however.

Look Out!

The World's being overtaken by Ibanez multi-neck guitars!
