Find the Billy Corgan press release, click on that and then scroll down to the bottom.

You'll find the KWS release there. Bit of a search, but made it.

This is actually pretty good, we joked about this guitar earlier. We thought it was gonna be a dark 3TS with a black pickguard and gold hardware with a lefty tremolo...
Oh, oh - and KWS written on the pickguard. :D

There are two additional finishes: sunburst and white. Beyond that, it's a blend of the previous AmStd w/some vintage touches and unique electronics and neck.

I hope a nice result for those who have been waiting.

Doc

Great looking Strat!!

I'm not sure how Signature Series come about. Does Fender approach the artist or vice versa? KWS has been doing it now for about 15 years. His first three albums are great, the last couple..... meh. Bring back Noah Hunt (gotta dance with the one that brung ya).

Here's the gist.... KWS has 5 blues albums out with multiple awards. John Mayer has 2 live albums and one studio album that feature a strat. And the studio album is really just the studio version of his first live album. Mayer has had his sig series for a while now.

Jonny Lang has been playing a thinline tele for just as long as Shepherd, so where's his series?

So what's up :?:

That's a nice looking guitar! It's hard to believe that KWS has been playing for 20 years, but I guess it's true. I remember when he was booked as a kid genious...

Speaking of KWS strats, the "Xtreme Lee" Fender Strat that was custom built by Fender and painted to look like KWS's Xtreme Lee '69 Dodge Charger for the TLC show "Rides" (and actually played by KWS on the show) is up for bid on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0256663615

you can see him play it on youtube

enjoy!

Doc, how come I can't find anything about this guitar on the Fender site? I would like to read the specs. i.e. pups, neck, body, electronics etc. Am I missing something as I don't know much about KWS guitar. He is a great player from my neck of the woods. That's a shame on me. :?

Nice lookin strats. The only thing I don't like is the poly finish and no maple neck option.
