Hello, I'v had an account on this forum once before but I never really used it but I started to read some topics and they really helped.
I'v always been a Strat player(squier for 4 years) but I got an American Series Stratocaster in the beginning of 2007 and have played that consistantly since then and also a Gibson Flying V. I'v just started to save some money to get a '69 Strat from the Fender Custom Shop.

I havn't yet. The 'U' shape neck on it worries me a bit but once I'v saved up that much money, I might end up ordering my own with a 'C' shape neck. (Although I aint got the slightest as to how much that would cost).

Welcome to the Forum. A Londoner? Then go buy a Forum T-shirt, and I'll see you next time at the O2 Arena.

And it sounds (from another thread) like you need a decent guitar shop. Try Regent Guitars in Denmark Street - a main Fender dealer. Or Charlie Chandler's Guitar Experience in Hampton Court - very up market clientele (if you see Eric or Dave in there, say hi). Or Macaris in the Charring Cross Road. Or...

Cheers - C

How would I go about ordering a Fender Custom Shop? Just I can't really get on the blower to Todd Krause and say; "69 Strat please with c-shape neck".
I'm not really clever about all this orderin' stuff.

You walk into one of those guitar shops I named and talk to them about it (Charlie Chandler would be your best bet for quality treatment on this kind of stuff). You need a registered Fender dealer to act as your go-between: they present you to the Custom Shop.

According to others who have done it, you'll likely find yourself talking direct to your builder at some point in the process.

You do have an idea how much this is going to cost, do you...?

Cheers - C
