I've had a bit of a look at it but it isn't like here. :-(

I'm thinking of migrating to PRS, a Zach Myers looks just the job to me. I have no idea who Mr Myers is but I like the look of his guitar (and the forum). I need to get down to one of my local guitar emporia to give it a try and see how it fits.

I am already a member of TDPRI (Tele Discussion) but I'm not going to join anything from Fender. Facebook and You Tube? Are they kidding? They are no comparison to this Forum.

Fender is cutting off some of their most loyal and knowledgeable customers! It just plain stinks!

You're right, John - it doesn't have the same feel. Still, if I need advice/help on something, it'll be worth a try, I think (hope!). For general chatting, not so much...

I have owned a PRS - a Custom 22 - back in the noughties. I liked it better than the LP and had it for about 10 years, but ultimately it was a bit of a 3-sound guitar and lacked the versatility of a Strat, even though it had coil taps. For the money it wasn't brilliantly finished either - the fret ends needed attention for a start. Better than a Gibson, but not perfect. I see the ZM is Asian-made; whether that'll affect the build quality or not, I don't know. As you say, the only way is to try one!

Cheers - Peter.

That is what I wrote yesterday ;

"Other medias are just bla bla bla.... nothing technical like here. "

Indeed so. It is the specification that appeals to me. I like a light guitar and, being somewhat conservative, I like the single cuts. That somewhat limits my choice.

I understand the MiA's are better guitars but I am just considering putting my toe in the water first. It is like most things, you can read and listen, and watch until the cows come home but ultimately you have to get your hands dirty to really know.

I had been considering using my guitar buying good will quota, issued by "She Who Must Be Obeyed", on a American Original but that ain't happening now as the passion has gone (for Fender that is).

For all my friends and foes alike, thank you very much for a very interesting journey. The name list for both is too long to write (or remember), but you know who you are.

For everyone who cares, check what valuable info there is on the forum, and copy/download it for further sharing. I'm talking, for example, about things like Ceri's guide to fitting precut nuts (I got that) as well as crucial info on ID'ing fakes from vintages, Fenders from Squiers, MIJ's from MIK's, and so on and so on and so on.
Personally, I got some 400ish Service/Wiring Diagrams on my drives, downloaded from the good old Fender pages (before that gravely disappointing and totally disasterous website update a couple of years ago) and also other sites, so anyone in need, hollaback me.
And strat-talk.com, squier-talk.com and tdpri.com still function, although they're quite annoying.

I could say a lot about how sad and angry I am by this kick-in-the-nuts-of-fans decision, and it's scheduling on top of the covid groundings, but what's the point - it's quite obvious nobody (of those who have the power) in the FMIC cares.

But I can't help snickering about their channel choices.
Facebook (never cared to join, but even my kids are no longer there),
Twitter (Donald ruined it for everybody else),
Instagram (a utopia of everybody being Ansel Adams with whatever was asked & answered on the forum)
and of all possibilities YouTube (does anyone want to see first a commercial, then me give a 20 minute video answer to anything?)
