Well talk about.

"So long and thanks for all the fish".

Considering Fender do pretty much bugger all to support this forum you would have thought they could have at least left it open.

No Fender , don't close the forum. We don't invest our time here since many years to see you close the forum.
You have no right to do that to us, we are not object, we are people, we are great Fender product customer.

My email to Fender:-

So, shutting the forum? How is Facebook an alternative when you can't even comment on the page?
The advantage of a forum is you have a wealth of knowledge that anyone can tap into accrued over years because forum searches work. Regulars generate a community and an affiliation with the brand. Closing the forum will alienate those who have invested their time. Shutting the forum will achieve nothing aside piss people off and limit peoples feeling of attachment to the brand. Who ever is advising you I suggest you sack them as they are wrong.

Sad to see , all the useful info will probably disappear.....
Pretty quiet here these days and of course comes at a cost so not surprising.
I will be removing my email as a contact for fender advertising forthwith but thanks Brad for all your work and to all the contributors!

very disappointed in this decision. there has been a wealth of information shared here that can't be found elsewhere. the inter-actions have been fun, and its great to be able to communicate with other fender fans from near and far.

fender, please re-consider! and to my forum friends, its been a great ride. won't be the same on other social media. I have played fenders since 1962, and was thrilled to find this group several years ago.

Ditto. As Fender obviously isn't interested in me I shall be terminating my interest in them. Does PRS have a forum?

I bought my Road Worn and HW1 Strats as a direct result of conversations on this forum. I bought my Telecasters because of the warm feeling they gave me having something with a bit of heritage. That warm feeling has gone and I will now be looking elsewhere.

Fender I can tell you when interest in this forum started to die was when people were bombarded with signing up for Fender Play. Talk about wasted resources.

You can't go to this website with out being hit up to sign up.

Without this forum I will come to the Fender website rarely if ever.

Sent to Fender ( scroll down to Contact us )

What I send;

At ForumAdm,
Please take note that it is very bad to know the Forum.Fender.com to believe that Facebook Twitter, Instagram YouTube as you mention, can replace it.
It is like comparing apples and bananas.
Fender makes a huge mistake

Rest assured that as a member of Forum.Fender.com for many years, I will not follow your advice.

Totally agree, but who did you send the email to? Customer Service? They're pretty much clueless. Brad? Not clueless, but he may not have any choice in the matter. Andy Mooney? Not entirely sure even he has any choice in the matter. I could only guess at his email address anyway.

Recently, it was announced that Servco Pacific bought controlling shares in Fender from TPG Capital.

Here's a screenshot from their webpage.

More like new heights in mediocre QC, Customer Service, inferior warranties and new heights in selling cars, motorcycles, home appliances in Hawaii and the Asia-Pacific region.

There's certainly no "community" to be found there, just another "soulless" corporation with no regard to customers, and very little regard to employees.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big believer in capitalism, but there's a wrong way to do it. That's why it gets a bad rap. I believe Fender is exemplifying it.

Who knows?, maybe this might get me banned.

It won't get me to buy something made in China, like a Tonemaster, or some overpriced "handwired" amp with crimped on spade connectors, and inferior electronic parts, supposedly made in California. Or an overpriced "Custom Shop" guitar.

The only thing I'm hoping at this point, is Brad still has a job at Fender if he wants it. He might be the only one who bridges the gap between the days of Leo and what Fender has apparently become today.

Sorry for the "rant". I will miss the posts here. Maybe Fender will still survive on Millennials or generation Z customers.

always comes down to a 'bang for your buck'
guess they figure the handful of us that are here daily aren't giving the best bang.

I won't following on any of the other media they talk about, so I guess this is it (or at least another couple of weeks)

I don't even know how to! Neither do I want to get involved in social media. When I do see something that came from these sites, it's just some foul-mouthed lunatic(s) sounding off...

Good to know you all, and thanks for your help when I asked for it. Cheers - Peter.
