Hi everyone! Im looking for information of my recent purchase. Its a 2004 Strat FSR MIM, with serial number MZ4062385.

I wanted to know more about the FSR (I always like to know more about the history of my instruments), so I asked Fender to get some information...but the information they gave me to me was strange. In the specs, they told me that is a special run made for ROAR music group for the west coast market, but a friend of mine knows one of the guys of the group, and they never saw one guitar like mine. I know, its strange.

So, the thing is if any of you have seen or knows more about this FSR...help me! haha

Sweet looking guitar.

As far as I am aware almost any retailer can order a Factory Special Run to their specifications provided they buy the necessary minimum quantity (I don't know what this number is).

I have one from a run Thomman commissioned for their Anniversary.

So, while an FSR is different to the standard selection available at the time, unless it is of particularly special provenance, or a significantly desirable specification, it isn't especially collectable or valuable compared to any other guitar of that time and build location.

Thank you! I paid $350 for it and sounds really nice. Is there any way to know the dealer who order it? Im assuming that the ¨Roar group reference¨ is not so accurate.

"Roar Music Group" doesn't mean R.O.A.R. the band.

That's most likely a corporation that owns several music stores. They may be a small chain, or a number of music stores with different names.

I had never heard of RMG or R.O.A.R. but discovered the band when I tried to Google RMG. No hits on Roar Music, but when I saw the band I gathered that "you know a guy who knows one of them" must have meant you thought the band had ordered the FSR.

Any of Fender's authorized dealers can order a batch of FSR's. FSR's are sort of "mix and match" customs -- they swap normal stock parts. Like a model that normally comes with a white pickguard can have a black one instead, or gold parts instead of chrome, a regular Fender paint color that's not normally offered on that model, different pickups.

Basically Fender-assembled partsocasters. Nothing really custom like exotic woods or non-standard Fender colors.

There's a minimum order based on price. For something based on the Mex Standard it's like 250 units, for a USA model it's like 100 units.

Fender does dozens of FSR's every year, and has been doing them for decades. While it's kind of cool to have something that's a little different than most, they're not collectable or worth more than standard models.
