Hi all, my name is Bill, this is my first post. I have a 1986 '62 Reissue Strat, I believe it's a Corona made, the serial # is V021141. I bought the guitar new in December 1986 when I was 16 years old. I had been playing for about a year and wanted to upgrade from my first guitar, a Kramer Striker. I tried out a bunch of guitars, but when I tried the American made strat my mind was made up. Even though I loved the way the guitar felt, esp. the neck, I was mostly into metal and hard rock at the time, and wasn't happy with the single coil in the bridge position. Now..don't get mad at me but I had the pickup replaced with a Seymour Duncan Hot Rail..hey I was 17 and it was the 80's. The bridge pickup that came with the guitar was put in a desk drawer at my parent's house and at some point got lost/thrown out. For many years I didn't have the time or lost interest in playing but last year or so I've really gotten back into it...went out and bought another a "metal" guitar recently, and I want to put my old strat back to the way it's supposed to be....what is the exact model/name of the original pickup? where can you buy it?

IIRC the pickups developed for that guitar became standardized as Fender's 57/62 set. You can find them as a set or often as singles on Ebay. A worthy alternative might be the bridge pickup from Fender's Fat 50's set.

I agree. The Fender Original '57/'62 Strat' Pickups are going to be the closest you can buy today.

I won't get mad at you. Mine is a 1983 '62 RI. In 1984 I put a full size SD JB humbucker in the bridge spot and had a Kahler 23xx installed. Today the original pickup is back in there, but the Kahler remains. If only the HM Strats would've arrived sooner than 1988.

Fender changed the spec of the 57/62 set in 1998 so if you want to return the guitar to original spec look for one pre that date.
