In 2010, the Fender Custom Shop created this Strat. Candy Apple Red over a gold basecoat with a gold anodized aluminum pickguard and maple neck.

This is my "Custom Shop" replica. Based on a 2016 Classic 50's Lacquer Strat. Candy Apple Red over a gold basecoat with a gold anodized aluminum pickguard and maple neck. Pickups are Seymour Duncan California 50's (SSL-1s w/reverse wound/reverse polarity middle and 5-way switch). Amp is the 5F6A Bassman clone I built several years ago.

Nah. I don't care for fake aging. I like my guitars new and shiny looking.

I do agree with you there at least in respect of Aged White. The "Aged white" aka Cream plastics would look a treat and would reduce the stark contrast of the white. I have Aged White on a number of my guitars and it really doesn't look as cream when installed as it does in the packet.

In my opinion, installing "aged white" buttons should not be perceived as being a "fake" of aging but rather as a simple color choice like cream or "off white" or ...Same if you put standard black knob.

And it would be (in my opinion) prettier than white.

Thanks, but I am happy with the color knobs and pickup covers I have. They look brighter in the photo due to the lighting (overhead daylight balanced LED floods).

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion....even if they are wrong ;-)

It's your guitar, and you are quite right, you roll with it which ever way you want.....

Or in other words, nobody has the truth or that there is not only one right answer.

Totally agree.

I'm not a fan of artificial "relics". I find it somewhat interesting that Fender is more than happy to produce guitars that are artificially aged, but they're not as inclined to do so with their amps.

As long as you are happy with your guitar, no other opinion matters. I'm pretty sure you don't really need mine.
Cheers,
Bill
