Hello - brand new first time post. I have a new Mexican Hendrix Strat and I am wondering if it's wired incorrectly or defective from the factory. When I switch to the Bridge pickup (position 5? or 1? of the 5-way switch - all the way back to the first setting of the switch) the Tone seems to be pegged to max bright/10 and neither Tone pot affects the Tone of that pickup.

Is it possible that this is correct? Perhaps thats part of the Hendrix configuration? Wanted to ask anyone on this forum who owns one to confirm - I really think it's wrong - shouldn't the back Tone pot be wired to the Bridge pickup and affect the Tone of that pickup?

Thanks! Shawn.

The original Strat wiring from 1954 onward was configured so that the tone controls were connected to the neck and middle pickups only.

There is a chart on the Fender service diagram which shows the switch and control functions.

If you want to add bridge tone control it is a case of soldering a short wire between the bare lug on the switch and the adjacent lug with the wire from Tone 2 on it.
