Hi!

I'm a casual player who been playing on and off since I was 10 years old. Always too lazy to be any better than medium good (whatever that means). Now I'm getting tired of whatching tv too many hours after work and workouts. Planning to train my skills more.

I have a couple of acoustic guitars and a Gretsch Electromatic (double cut) to use with a fender mustang amplifier. I almost never play on high volumes and sometimes use headphones.

Now I'm looking to get a fender thats enough for my purpose;

1. I play everything from jazz to indiepop music. But i like everything

2. Must be comfy to use when i sit :)

3. Easy played. Don't have very big hands.

4. Price; 1 to 2000$.

5. Not another guitar that sounds like my gretsch.

6. Something that will keep me going for many years.

7. good looking :). I like the all black strata look

So....is the stratocaster what i'm looking for or something else?

All the best / Olof

A good Stratocaster will not disappoint.

Indeed so. I would however suggest a Telecaster might be more comfortable for sitting down playing as the flat bottom doesn't slide around as much. Either should tick all the boxes but a Strat will be more flexible.

With a 2K budget you could buy a Squier Classic Vibe Tele and a Strat, decide which you prefer and then buy a Made in America which ever with the change.
