You should post your comments on Marshall's forum.

Dudes got a Strat so that is a legitimate question (even if we don't know much about Marshalls)

My questions are:- "What is the intention of the stack?"

And "What do you mean by low end?"

Even the term "Stack" tends to fill me with dread as, with modern PA, stacks are pretty much redundant for anything aside posing in front of. They are also an absolute (and unnecessary) pain in the back side to transport.

And the other thing with Marshall amps is good ones sound exactly like Marshalls of old and nothing else. They have knobs but they don't do much including making them quieter. Bad ones have a great many tonal variations except don't nail the classic Marshall sound nor sound great at anything else. Generally, unless you can have a Marshall at a volume that you can wring the neck out of it there are a great many other options which will give far greater flexibility.

Welcome MrBill.

Don't forget, ( IMO 80 % ) of the guitar good sound and tone come from the amp.
Better *is the amp, better is the guitar sound / tone.

* Better do not mean powerfull with lots of gizzmos.

I'm sure you know a low end Fender Squier guitar will sound better on a good "boutique' amp or a Fender Deluxe Reverb than a Jeff Beck Strat on a Laney LXR20. Both are 20 watts range amps.

Good luck on your amp shopping and enjoy your nice guitar

Remember this only my opinion..

Comments about the Marshall are right, cheap ones don't sound "right"

Buddy of mine fritted and farted on amps for a couple of years, we kept "auditioning amps" at the store weekly

We finally found an amazing amp
FenderFSR 65 Princeton Rev Tweed w/12'' Cannabis Rex Speaker

The Cannabis Rex speaker takes the shrill off most Fender amps

I'm afraid I am somewhat contused by the question. Could you elaborate on what you are looking for as I am obviously stupid.

I am not aware that the Jeff Beck trem is specific to that model so the answer probably applies to all Strats with the same bridge (without looking it up I cant remember if the JB is a six or two post bridge).

With regard to setup at purchase that very much depends on the vendor. A box shifter will send you the guitar as it left the factory - probably without even opening the box. Others may well do a set up check but this will change if you change the sting type/gauge.

I doubt it.
His tech sets up his guitars, and Jeff normally has guitars from the Custom Shop.
Nothing that Fender ships gets used without being set up by the tech.
