Hi All, I have a 2016 Strat Elite HSS with S1 switch. Just lately I've noticed a drop in volume on notes played on the 12 to 14th frets of the B string and also on the G string around 14,15,16th frets. This is only happening on the bridge and bridge/middle position so I assume it is something to do with the bridge pickup. The is not fret buzz or string interferance. I changed the strings (Elixer 9-46) and tried different patches on my Helix floor but no problem there. Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this or do I need to replace the pickup...? Thanks, Mark

If you have volume loss only at few frets ( B and G strings ) and sound volume is good on other, it is not the pickups.
Pickups loss volume issue is everywhere, not on few frets.

What your guitar do as no sense. IMO your guitar may need a complete set up

Thank you for your feedback. The guitar is set up and plays beautifully and has only started doing this in the last two weeks. Also, it is only doing it on the neck pickup. I will take it in to get a second opinion on the setup though.

Many guitar are not set up properly, too many guitar player don't see a qualified tech or a luthier.

A qualified tech or luthier will know what's wrong with your guitar

Possible foreign-material particulates have fouled the contacts of the selector switch?

Try cleaning it thoroughly with some De-Oxit spray cleaner.

Selector switch contact, work or not, for all string.

I think that because it is fret specific and pickup specific, it probably won’t be the selector switch, and I haven’t had any issues with the selector when switching between pickups.

First, test the guitar with an old school amp without the Helix, that would tell if the problem is in the guitar at all.

But if the problem remains: is there any difference if the S1 is ON or OFF?

BTW, this is quite puzzling:
"only happening on the bridge and bridge/middle position" vs "it is only doing it on the neck pickup"...

My apologies, it should read “neck pickup”.

Using the S1 switch helps a bit but it is still noticeable.

I will try without the Helix and see if there is a difference. Thanks
