Hi there, I'm very glad to have found these forums as I'm trying to figure out more information about my Jeff Beck signature model Strat. Recently I opened up my storage unit and started going through some old guitars, this one based on my recollection and everything I could find through googling appears to be a 1999 model year, but I couldn't really find anything more about it and was hoping someone with a little more knowledge than myself could help fill in the blanks

This link has pictures of the serial number and shows what it looks like:

The serial number reads: N 979280

Any information that anyone could provide about it would be great. Thank you!

Now, I'm walking on thin ice here; early JB Signatures aren't my strong point.

Anyways, the "1st version" did have that Wilkinson roller nut, and the N9 serial number is one of the oddities in Fender history: instruments with that can come from 1990(ish) or 1999(ish). Fender had ordered the whole decade's worth of N-serials, and some N9's ended up where they shouldn't...

And a 1999 JB Sig should, IMHO, have the spaghetti logo.

So, what's in the neck end and heel, and elsewhere inside?

This has been interesting stuff, thank you both for the info.

I don't have the best memory of when I bought this guitar, and man that N9 weirdness with the serial numbers is wild.

I don't really feel comfortable taking the neck off and stuff myself, so I might have to find someone to do that if I can't figure it out without that info.

Thanks!

Go and have a look at Xhefri Guitar.
Look in the for sale section - you'll see a JB sig that looks just like the OP's.
