Hello :)
I bought today a Fender Squier Bullet Strat and I have a couple of questions about it.
1. I removed some protective film from it but there is some stuck under the dials. Is there a way to remove the dials to get rid of the plastic?
2. There is an imperfection on the body where it connects to the neck. Is this normal for a £120 guitar? Its on the underside so I can't see it unless I am looking for it.
Pictures are below :)

Thanks very much!

Grasp the knob firmly and give it a good wiggle while lifting up, it should pop on/off. Sometimes they are tight and need a little more help, place a bath cloth against the body/paint and pick guard to protect it and use a flat tipped screw driver to apply light pressure under the bottom lip of the knob. Work it slowly around the knob from different sides until it comes off.
Unfortunate paint blemish, maybe take it back to the store where you purchased the guitar and see if they will discount it, give you store credit or refund a little of the price.

My favourite way, if I don't have a forked knob puller available (you can get them for next to nothing off eBay - look up trim removal tools), is get a thin cloth (handkerchief) slide it under the knob and wrap it around and the use that the pull the knob off.

That's what I do.

A spoon works to remove knobs.

As would probably a pick axe but I wouldn't think either are the best tool for the job. ;-)

Perhaps I should be more specific since you seem as dull as your pick ax. A plastic spoon gently placed under a knob and worked around the knob rocking it with each move will lift it up without damage. I have done it several times. I have a special tool for this. It is metal, does the same thing. This is safer?

Well if it works for you. I'll stick with a plastic trim puller or handkerchief myself.

Hi Emma.

I would take it back to the store if it’s not to far away and ask for another one. If they agree then I would open it up in the store to make sure it’s ok.

If you bought it online, then you can return it FOC , under the distance selling rules, stating that the fit is not correct.

Hope this helps
David
