Keep in mind, I have a good idea on how to tell between a fake and real Strat, but this on I don't know.

I bought a 2015 US Special Strat off Reverb not even an hour ago. Everything looks good on it, serial number matches up on Fender's website.

The only thing getting me is the bridge isn't stamped "Fender." Again, everything else is good. Did they make a run of guitars without Fender stamped bridges? It is the saddle type bridge BTW. Seller claims is all original stock from the factory, original owner with original case.

All I see is one very blurry pic, and that's absolutely no help.

But if the serial comes up in the database, and the accompanying pic is exactly like your guitar, chances are it's legit - but that doesn't say much about if it's original.

More & better pics will get you there.

BTW, what's a "saddle type bridge"..?

I scooped that ^ from your PB site. Looks like an American Special.

OP write;
"I bought a 2015 US Special Strat"

Is not the same guitar in other words ?

I'm assuming this means folded steel saddles not cast block saddles. I am a little concerned that the OP suggests these aren't stamped "Fender" though.

And I can't see anything through the blur of the pictures either....even if I squint.

Nope, can't see anything much either! Although I don't use FB, I do have an a/c specifically for transferring photos to this forum. Seems to work fine, but I can't make PB work nowadays.

I'd say the Strat's an American Special in Surf Green - identical to my 2014. The saddles are stamped Fender, but not the bridge itself. The bottom of the block should be stamped PW-36, however.

Nice guitar - I love mine as much as my CS Strat. Albeit I had the jumbos swapped for medium jumbos, so I suppose you could say it's not quite the same guitar!

Cheers - Peter.

Photobucket strikes again.
They are blurring the images on the free/low cost accounts.
I'm glad I didn't fall for their game and migrate back to them when they decided to allow hotlinking again with a watermark... now they blur the images.

I started using Google Photos and much easier to post good, clear pics.

I went to Imgur and canceled my PB account (I was paying $100/yr).

So is Imgur, but they don't extort you (yet)
Nothing is free... if you aren't paying, you *are* the product.

I miss the old photobucket,

I hate IMGUR , it's so hard to load a picture, doesn't have folders, looks like a Instagram social media site

It has albums/folders, but they made them less intuitive to access/use.
Didn't used to be like this... they changed it maybe 6-8 months after PB's last SNAFU.
