How difficult would it be to fit a jaguar/jazzmaster trem system onto a strat? I prefer my stratocaster in terms of tone and aesthetics but I love the versatility and expression available through a jazzmaster trem system, and it's especially useful for the noisier and more unorthodox playing styles I'm interested in.

So would that be possible? And how much might it end up costing to have done by a local guitar shop?

Your Strat tremolo may need a tuning by a pro ?

How it cost to modify ( if possible I don't know ) = $$$

Like Japanese Conrad guitars . Google japanese conrad guitars

Anything is possible.
But I think doing a mod like that would be in the "very difficult" category...

On a regular already existing Strat with a (vintage or modern) trem, a proper job would mean filling the old trem routing, then routing a new hole for the Jag/JM trem, plus the added works for the bridge type chosen. Naturally all that jazz leads to a complete refin. Done by a pro, the costs would be "rather" high.

A bit simpler start is to get either a hardtail body (less filling, same routing and refinishing), or order a custom made body - I'm pretty sure someone would make one with those routings, but if not, almost all manufacturers sell bodies with no routings.

Oh yeah, there is the third (or whatever) option; rewiring a Jazzmaster to Strat pickup combination.

One (more) note to consider: if the mod candidate guitar is a Strat you love, it may turn out way different afterwards.

+1

I fear this endeavor is but a fool's errand.
