Thank you guys for all your replies.

The thing that worries me is that the body and neck are all scratch free and really clean despide of the pickguard and the pickups that seems to have lived longuer.
On the other hand, I have noticed some small tiny eye-shaped things inside the versnish (these aren't impacts) that I can't make a good picture of.

So, the fact that the wireing and the middle pickup seems not original, can it be that the body isn't a Fender made one?

Fish eyes? Dodgy 'lumps' of lacquer under the top coat? I have a partscaster with an Aztec Gold finish, with a slight case of the latter. Like yours, they're difficult/impossible to photograph, and I'm not bothered by them. I wouldn't expect to see them on an Ultra, though, especially with that fancy finish. But anyone would have to admit that some of Fender's paint jobs aren't the best, so who knows?

I agree with others that it looks genuine, except for the messy wiring that clearly isn't how it came out of the factory. But that only means it's been fiddled with at some point by somebody who wasn't bothered what it looked like afterwards. New switch, perhaps...?

Cheers - Peter.

Agreed.
The body does not show the usual signs of cheap Asian copies, namely, a ~1/4" hole in the middle of the neck pocket that runs all the way through. Also, the "bathtub route" is not common on Partscaster bodies. It was used on many Fender models from the 90s, including plywood Squiers.

Unfortunately, the serial number is too old to be in the online database, but you can call Fender Customer Relations and they can confirm the color and model of that number. The pickups look right... the SN should be ~1991, and the neck and bridge pickups are correct for that year, the middle is newer.

Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one in that case then!
