I'm thinking about upgrading the tremelo on my 1996 American Standard Stratocaster. I don't use the tremelo very aggresively, so the stock Fender tremelo functions just fine for my use, but I'd like to have a solid steel block and steel saddles for tone and sustain.

GFS / Guitarfetish appears to be an interesting low cost alternative. Claims to have a solid steel block and stainless steel saddles.

Anyone here have any experience with their tremelos?

Or their products in general?

I'd also be interested in hearing if anyone has tried their pickups. Harmony Central reviews seemed to speak highly of them for the most part. 'And they're very inexpensive. Would be nice to hear from someone who has tried the Seymours, Fralins, Dimarzios, etc. and have also used the GFS pickups. I have a prewired Dimarzio pickguard (Area pickups) on backorder ritht now, and wonder if I could accomplish my tone goal for less loot.

Owning a couple of their guitars (Xaviere XV-870) , made with their own components, I can vouch for them.

NICE quality parts, even the stock pickups sound great! :D

The GFS pickups more than hold their own with the "Big Boys", from shimmering clean to a punchy neck pickup tone when distorted.

The trem is of excellent quality, not even factoring in the price...and NO, I don't work for them!

I've put a brass saddle gold bridge on a client's project guitar and it worked out very well. This one :

Jay is an interesting guy to speak with and Jay [Abend] is the same guy who made Bedrock amps back in the eighties, one of the earliest boutique amp builders.
