Hi,

I recently bought the Ed O'Brien Strat with the Sustainer pickup and it arrived yesterday. Really like it but I've noticed there's one issue with it; I plugged it into a pedal (Strymon) at my house and noticed the sound rapidly disappears (we'll say if this pedal was connected to an amp and you immediately connected that pedal to the guitar and played an E chord the sound will fade completely in about a half second- a full second). I've noticed this guitar won't work without a battery so that would suggest the guitar is suffering from a brown out.

What can be best done to avoid this? Admittedly all other pedals of mine are sitting in a buddy's house so perhaps I could just stick another pedal before this one and it will solve the draining issue, but given I can't currently try this, and perhaps this might not work either, what other options would I have?

I posted this ages ago, and since have tried setting a ehx memory man before the original pedal so the guitar output goes through the memory man first and then the original pedal. That solves my issue

Sorry about the delay.
The forum software holds new user posts for clearance by a Mod.
This causes delays because the forum admin are Fender employees (IT department) and only work the forum when "on the clock", so nothing happens over weekends, holidays, and especially during NAMM. My first post was delayed for almost 3 weeks.

It sounds like there may be a polarity conflict between the guitar and the pedal, since the cable is used to complete the circuit and activate the battery. It shouldn't, since only one side is impacted.
