Well, I didn't play it extensively before I gave it to my luthier, but it sounded exactly like a noughties Strat! I do have another 2006 AmStd, but that's now HSS, so I can only compare the neck and middle (and mix) sounds, but they're pretty much the same on both guitars. Not that my ears are as good as they used to be!

As all the business parts are US Fender, and the woodwork is alder/maple/rosewood, I hoped that would be the case. Got to be better than using, say, Squier bits, hasn't it?

As I've said before, the only purpose of this build was to use parts I already had 'in stock', but obviously I'd have been disappointed if it didn't sound authentic Strat. I don't think I'm going to be disappointed, though!
