It was 10 months ago that I purchased my American Elite Strat, but the frets are getting corroded and even on one of the frets (of the second string) there is a visible and tangible indent where the string touches the fret, to the extent that the string gets stuck slightly while bending on that fret! I live in California and have not played a lot with the guitar. this thing has never to any of my old and recent guitars ever. should I apply for the warranty? it is frustrating though!

You mustn't have wiped the guitar after use and left some sweat moisture on the fretboard.

Most rust on frets can be cleaned up with 0000 steel wool (note the 4x 0's) and some lemon oil used for rosewood fretboard

The indent,
Well you probably need a bit of crown/polishing which the steel wool probably won't help.
A guitar tech with a fret file can clean that up

You should bring the guitar to an authorized Fender dealer and have them assess the situation. The corrosion issue is easily addressed but a worn fret after only ten months of ownership indicates something may be seriously amiss.

There was a topic on fret problems on a 2016 Elite a while ago: https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=116435
