I'm trying to change the strings on my Strat and these damn bullet strings, I can't get 'em out. Anyone else having this problem? Damn strings just won't pull out the other end! I'm pissed!

Try cutting the tip where you wrap it around the tuner off with wire cutters. It should come out fine

There already cut off near the bottom of the guitar so their not like there curled or nothing, their perfectly straight and there jammed and they just don't want to budge. Been trying for 1 hour now to get 'em out.

I've had that happen too.

Cut off a section of your old low E string (the one you are changing) and push it into the hole at the top of the bridge to push the stuck bullet end out.

Good Luck.

I've finally succeeded and I'll never buy another Fender Super Bullet string for as long as I live. Guitar is brand new from the factory. You don't get it, I couldn't cut a part of my string to push it out because the strings were all cut off down near the bridge and still part of the bullet. It wasn't just like the bullet was stuck. Plus at the same time I had to hold the guitar against my chin and push the tremelo arm down because it was out of line with the holes on the plastic plate on the back of the guitar. You know how I finally did it. We'll since it's factory new those bullets must have been caked into the tremolo block's holes, when I took the strings off it wasn't in line with the holes with the plastic plate on the back of the guitar. So here I am with the guitar upside down resting against my chin while keeping the tremolo arm down at the same time and I was in the most uncomfortable position. How did I finally do it? I got the tip of a ball poiint pen and stuck it in the back of the plate, touching those damn bullets and rubbing them with the ball point pen. That finally loosened them and then I still had a tough as time pulling the stings through, but I finally succeeded in pulling 'em out. All this upside down headstock resting against my chin while pressing the tremelo arm down at the same time. Damn. Fender Bullets? Never again!

When I got my deluxe players strat it had bullets on it. I used a small screwdriver to push them out.

I had trouble with this when I took the factory strings off my American Deluxe V-Neck Strat. I ended up using a chunk of the old Low E as has already been suggested. Couple days later I was at a Dollar store and found a "cake tester" which was basically a long thin metal rod with a plastic handle at the end. Works AWESOME for string ends getting stuck in bridges.

Well I went to stretch the strings the first night I got the guitar and my high E broke, didn't even get a chance to play it. And I remember back in the 70s when I owned a Strat I gave up on those bullets after the 3rd or 4th break in a row. The high E on this new Strat that broke the first night the bullet popped out. So it came from the factory set up with 009s and I didn't want those anyway. So I decided to take them all off tonight without even playing it with those 009s and install a pair of 008s. So not does only my string break the first night, but I had to go through all the grief of trying to get these bullets out. Besides I though when I had the guitar upside down leaning on my chin that the cutoff strings would scratch my guitar. I broke the high E the first night I just starting to stretch the strings and get ready to play and said, Oh what the hell, I'm not even using these, I'm taking right off and changing them immediately. What a time I had!

Hello Abombaci,

Never had this problem with bullets
and have used them for many a moon.

I wonder if the tremolo block holes
are out of spec.

or the bullets out of spec.

or Just bad luck I suppose.

Best of luck with whatever
strings you choose next.

Cheers.

I had this trouble once but I use d addario strings. I thought this was a good example as to why I should use the bullets but I guess now it can be a problem not matter the string type

Sounds like the problem was with the backplate. One more reason why I never have those on.

I always remove the back plate of my strats too...
I played a John Mayer strat yesterday & it comes with no back plate (it's only in the way).
The cool thing was that on the back of the body there are no screw holes
gouged into the wood where there is no backplate.
Because there never was a back plate!! Cause it is only in the way! lol just my opinion...
