Can I use an 11 hole pickguard in place of an 8 hole one? Where is the best place to purchase a prewired pickguard in the South Okanagan, BC Canada?

Sure!

As long as you don't mind butchering a stock Strat body by drilling extra holes in it.

And you'll find pre-wired pickguards at any Strats 'R' Us store (there's one on every street corner of every city in the western world).

Quite so. 8 hole bodies are only on vintage type models and will be more desirable for those looking for such. If you re drill it you will remove that originality. Some might not care, for others it could be a deal breaker.

And Squiers.

Not sure what they're running now, but my early 90s plywood Squier looked just like "Blackie" from 5ft away.
8-hole single-ply white PG.

I'd rather have had a 3-ply PG and a single-ply body :D
