Hi all. I want bid on this guitar but need advise before I buy. Is this a vintage stratocaster? The seller does not give much information about it.

A few Fender parts perhaps but a sham nonetheless.

And to further obfuscate the guitar's alleged bonafides, it looks like Ice Pick Ike and Billy Belt Sander had their way with it.

Indeed so. Vandalism a relic does not make.

It is strange what people do though and I guess might be relative to playing style but the raised Fender logo would be a nightmare for me. I'd be loosing picks and fingernails every time I picked it up.

Other than that, under all the abuse, it might be a MiM and, if it hadn't been withdrawn could have made a good cheap project base.

Is it a fake?

I did a bit more research and did find fenders with similar stamps and the color dots that were MIJ. ?

That is what fakes are, genuine looking decals placed on to make it look like the real deal. There are so many other details about the guitar though that can’t be covered up, which definitely expose this one as 100% fake.
