2006 was Fender's 60th Anniversary, so the seller may have gotten the decades count wrong.
I'm not a fan of instagram pics, so try posting some (high res, every side, full shots and details) straight on the forum.
From that one pic: can't tell if the truss rod plug is plastic or walnut, can't tell the color (Pewter..?), can't confirm it's a regular American Series Strat or some Limited Edition model (there must have been some Dealer Selects and such). But it's not the official 60th Anniversary model, those were 3TSB only.

Since a US-made 2006 Strat should be in the database, you could try feeding the serial number here: https://www.fender.com/product-registra ... ial-search

American standard/series. Most of the USA strats that year had the small 60th medallion on the back of the headstock. Nothing special and as mentioned not the 60th model.
Hope that helps. :D

Don't leave us hanging. A legit what..?

(My guess is/was an American Series Stratocaster, but after checking the 2006 price list, I'll correct the color to Charcoal Frost Metallic.)

Anyways, glad if I was any help, so you're welcome.

Did we get pic hosting on the forum or am I misunderstanding you.
If we did then I guess I never saw the memo.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I meant visible straight on the forum (with the https...jpg pic address and using the IMG-command) instead of behind a link.

So: Misunderstood… No hosting here yet... Keep the hope up, though.
