Yep, we need/like pics.
Here's how:
Quote:
First you need to upload your pics to the internet. Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.
The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' or 'https' and ending in '.jpg'.

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.

And a JD14 (yes, that's 2014ish) Japanese Fender should show up in the Fender databases. Feed the serial there (link below) and see if you a) get a result, and b) the image matches your guitar. I'm a bit worried about the "T362", it's too close to "ST362", which is a Squier stamp. But let's not jump into conclusions before the pics.

JD14011755 is not showing up in the searchable database.
Contact Fender Customer Support directly by phone or email and they may be able to confirm.

I checked with a couple of other JD14-serials; seems those are not very well found in the registration database, so this one missing is neither good or bad. Hope the Consumer Relations can help further.

But it's not an all-original '57 "Reissue", the Lace Sensors tell that straight away - and I'm assuming those are Lace Sensors, not just the covers.

I'll risk a very vague guess, based on my gut feelings:
I call the neck legit, and it's most likely from a ST57 MIJ Strat. (Do the tuners have a "GOTOH" stamp?)
IMHO, the body didn't originally come with that neck. The stamps and nail marks aren't typical for any Japanese Fender I know of, but on the other hand there's nothing screaming the body isn't a Fender.
I think someone made a "DIY-Blackie" lookalike - on a factory made "MIJ Clapton" (quotes because the Japanese versions aren't officially called that) model, I'd expect Lace Sensor Golds and a mid boost with a battery box. (No pics of the electronics & insides, so those could be under the pickguard and the trem cover, if it's a DIY.)
All in all, at the moment I'm thinking Partscaster - but a really nice one, perhaps even better than a 2014 ST-57 would be.

Those are ceramic pickups and would not have been factory for a 57RI.

I think even the ceramicity (grin) isn't a foolproof sign. The "Reissues" (again quotes, because many/most Japanese "vintage style" guitars weren't officially called reissues) have been made in many price classes, and some of the 53000¥/55000¥ etc. ones did have ceramic pickups.

For 2011/2014 I'm not sure, but all in all I tend to support your conclusion - the white/black, red/black, white/black isn't typical for Fender - Wilkinson, perhaps..?
