Post subject: Is my strat legit?

I bought this guitar from a guitar teacher a long time ago, and am looking to sell it. I have no idea how to get information on it because the serial number on the back of the head pulls up nothing when I search it.

I'll attach some pictures, hopefully someone can help!

At best it's a Squier with some faux decals affixed.

It's what we refer to as an SLO (Strat Looking Object) around here.

It might be a Squier but the strange rear cover and rubber under the neck plate makes me question even that.

Most certainly a SLO but that isn't to say it isn't a nice guitar to play. It just wasn't made by Fender.
