Hey, I recently picked up a 56’ custom shop Stratocaster. I was hoping to possibly see if anyone has experience identifying that this is authentic

I have provided a Imgur gallery link below with pictures of the neck, neck pocket, and underneath pick guard as well.

Also, is there a particular fender email I can send these pictures to for verification?

Thanks!

Hi Darktides,

Cool looking guitar! Looks legit to me, but email Fender for a more decisive answer.

For the most part, it looks legit, with a couple of concerns:
Pickup cavities are stamped NOS, which is a "New Old Stock" model which would not have any relic treatment from the factory, thus, why is "RELIC" stamped not only under the neck plate, but also in the pocket and under the pickguard?
It could be NOS and the appearance of the back of the body is natural "relic" from the previous owner... but that seems like a LOT of checking for a 15 year old guitar.

I don't know if the stamp in the middle pup cavity should match the neck plate or not. Does it have a COA with matching numbers?

Hypothesis.

If it is a team built guitar is it possible the body was taken from a NOS pile of bodies and re-stamped?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I did recieve a COA, which I added to the album.

I got a call yesterday and I was informed that this guitar came with a letter from a country music artist from Chase Bryant I guess this guitar was owned by him at one time. I am assuming the wear came from being a touring guitar and used in recording.

I have uploaded both. My only concern is that the serial on the COA is incorrect it would appear that the serial on the guitar matches the letter.

It would appear the actual serial is R21373, but COA states R21323.

7/2... could be a typo on the COA.
Fender would be able to confirm.
