Greetings Everyone,

Just hoping to avoid the "I just bought this and was wondering if it was real" post and defer to the collective opinion of the forum as to whether or not this is a legitimate American Deluxe Stratocaster. Serial checks out but anyone can copy that. Does the way the serial is printed (not well aligned with the US11) bother anyone? Haven't seen it in person yet but was hoping to not waste the time if there is something obvious I am missing. Thanks in advance!

JC

The jump in the serial number is common.
IMHO, three pics aren't enough for serious ID'ing, but I see no obvious signs of a fake.

That's of course assuming that things like contour heel, compound radius, MicroTilt, S1 & the usual gidgets of a Dlx model are as they should.

The typeface is correct for both parts of the serial number - the US11 is in one typeface, and the remainder is in a different one.
I don't see anything to be wary of.

One noticeable detail is the inclusion of polished Schaller locking tuners in place of F-branded Pings.

On the tuners chromeface mentioned; I noticed the same thing, but didn't point that out since AFAIK these Schallers without the F-logo were used in lefty Deluxe guitars in and around 2011.

There are a great many AD Strats out there with Schaller lockers with no F logo.

I see nothing amiss.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Look at the current equivalent, the American Elite (lefty) and you'll see the same tuners!
Fender must have bought a shedload of 'em, and they're so popular (lefty guitars) they're still fitting the things nearly a decade later.

For the record, I'm a lefty myself, and learned to play a righty the right way round.
In truth I'm almost ambidextrous.
That said, I'd give my right arm to be fully ambidextrous ......

I've seen a few 22-fret US Deluxe basses using the new US1xx serial numbers in their necks. Fender supposedly tried to wring left-over parts from existing inventory, resulting to the last batch of dinky SCN-equipped Deluxes produced after 2010. Stratosphere had a couple of 22-fret Deluxe bass necks having the US1xx serials on them.
