Hello all,

I've always loved Strats, but I honestly struggle playing faster lead on them. It feels like I'm fighting with the guitar to do things that are almost effortless on others. I don't play metal, but metal style guitars have always felt the most comfortable to me. Of course trying to get that classic Strat tone out of them is a challenge.

I'm intrigued by the compound radius and the C to D carve on the Elite and wanted to get some opinions from Elite owners as the the 'playability' of them vs more traditional Strats. Is there much of a difference, or is it just marketing speak?

And off topic but related question, are they worth the asking price?

If I had the option I would run down to the nearest music store and play one, but none of the stores in my area have them.

Any and all input/opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Did you try Rainbow Guitars in Tucson?

Harvey usually has a pretty good selection of premium Fender instruments.

I've always wanted to take a road trip down there to see that place, but no I haven't. It's about 150 miles from me.

Cool, I didn't know Fender made a compound radius neck for a Strat. I do have a Jackson Dinky with compound radius neck, and it is definatley faster and easier playing than my MIM Strat.

One option is a compound radiused replacement neck to one's favorite Strat.
Either straight from Fender (the Deluxe neck comes with a "regular" Bi-Flex truss rod) or from any of the aftermarket manufacturers, e.g. Musikraft, Warmoth, Mighty Mite, USACG, Allparts...
