Folks,
Does anyone know what some of the Body Cavity Engraved markings or stamped engravings mean. Specifically, I recently noticed a "BECK" stamp in the Neck Pickup cavity of my American Deluxe Body. Funny thing is I own a couple of Beck Signature Body's and one has the "BECK" stamp and the other doesn't. I also own several USA Deluxe Strat Body's that have the "BECK" stamp which leads me to believe it has nothing to do with the BECK Signature Strat. Perhaps it could be someones last name at the Fender Factory...I'm really confused by this. In addition, I noticed some other markings and think I have those figured out...but I've learned not to take anything for granted; SB - Solid Body, NOS-New Old Stock...I'd be interested in knowing any other markings and of course my initial question about the "BECK" stamped pickup cavity. I don't know the answer to your question. But wouldn't it be funny if there really were body inspections being performed by some dude at Fender named Felix Beck? Maybe Fender-employee Arnold Clapton works the second shift?

I've read about this before (on another Forum). It was reported that
Quote:
the Beck body was the first to get the contoured neck heel and when the American Deluxe series adopted it later on, Fender would use Beck bodies for production ... because the JB body is exactly the same
