I'm partial to the SCN's, that said tone is very subjective so to each it's own. I have been able to coax a wide range of sounds with my current arsenal.

That depends on the amp! I have an 03 tangerine candy AmDlx that came stock with Vintage Noiseless pups. They sound great through the Blues Deluxe and Peavey Classic 50. They are too bright for the Vibrolux setting on the Super Sonic, but sound okay through the other two channels. They are way too bright for the Blues Junior. I have SCN's on an 04 AmDlx that sound too dark on the Blues Dlx and Peavey, but sound phenomenal on the Vibrolux "channel" on the SS.

The VN pups use 1 meg ohm pots, thus the brightness. The SCN's come with 250k ohm pots. I've considered replacing the 1 meg ohm pots with 250's or 500's to take the edge off the VN's. Don't know.

I go through phases - sometimes only the VN's can satisfy my tone tastes. Lately though, I've been loving the SCN's, especially through the Blues Junior, which has a fairly bright tendency.

I'm voting for the SCN's because they are more versatile. But it's close!!
