I like them both, each have their own unique sound and look.

Go out and try some of each and find the one that speaks to you.

Personally I am a Strat guy.

Telecaster, of course. Strats are for sissies.

Eventually you will want both. For distortion and feel I like a Strat. For clean the Tele wins in my opinion.

Only true rockers can understand the strat, which are better distorted, not clean.

I think the strat offers a wider range of sounds, which is important if you aren't sure what sound you're looking for.

Get at least one of each! I got a Tele before I got a Strat, but that's just me. Get a Strat before ya get a Tele, if you like. I love 'em both!

Both great, but very different. Depends on what you want. I'm a strat guy all the way, but I love tele sounds as well.

I bet if you post this same survey over on the Tele forum, you'll get the exact opposite response proportion.
You need to go to your favorite local music store and play the same licks through the same amp with the same settings back to back. One or the other will light your fire. But hey for the price of a single American Strat or Tele, you can one of each Mexi's.
BTW I did not cast a vote, it's your guitar.
