I am playing a couple of gigs where I'll be playing directly through a PA backing up an acoustic guitar, acoustic bass and drums.
I practiced with these guys once. It sounded ok. I ran an overdrive pedal for my soloing, as well as a wah.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips. I mean it sounds OK, but could be better if I was playing through my Marshall.
I do have the "line out" on my Marshall. Maybe I should try that going through the PA?
What do you think?
Thanks!!

Mike the marshall, guitars interact with amps even at low volumes. i always found direct to p.a very sterile.

+1

That's what makes small amps so good. Mic em and run it thru a PA. Straight to PA just doesn't cut it tonewise, even with pedals.

You can also try a Hughes & Kettner Red Box. It sounds good at all volume levels.

The voicing options are 4-12" and 2-12" and both sound good, IMO.
