The "no-no" is the words "power drill"! Seek professional help.

You'll have to drill a hole into the stripped screw and pull that one out with another screw.
they sell these special drill bit and screws at home depot type stores.

Stew-Mac also carries them, but probably cheaper at HD or Lowe's.

If there is enough of the screw sticking out you may be able to grip it with vise-grip pliers and back it out.

I had an ESP guitar and was so scared that I would damage my guitar by putting on the Shaller strap locks. All he simply said is just remove the the strap buttons from the guitar and replace them with the Shaller screws and strap buttons. The Shaller screws had to kind of pave their way through since the ESP's screws were thinner. But all and all everthing turned out OK. I'm not so sure that if you use Shaller's screws on a Stratocater that you'd be better just taking out the Strat's buttons and installing the Shaller strap buttons but instead of installing Shaller's screws just maybe replace with the orignal Strat screws.

That's exactly what I do on every guitar I own. I use the old screws and the new buttons so I can return it to stock at any time.

Yeah, those are great. Every home should have one, even if it only gets used once every 3 years.
