Hello guys
I want to buy fender road worn strat. I heard a lot ot good stuff about this guitar, for my personally this guitar is good because I can have "vintage" guitar for good price. The new one 2019 have a pau ferro fingerboard, the 2009 got rosewood. For me the main diffrence between this guitars is that the 2009 is more relic, I can say that pepole from mexican fender pay more attencion to "worn" them. What do you think about road worn from 2009 and 2019, do you have any experience with this guitar?
Maby they learn something from early ones and new ones are better. Or maby the first models was better?

Yes I know
I just like worn out guitars, for me personally if guitar have a lot of dings etc. I treat her like a tool, the new ones are like celebrity. Be very careful.

I'd go with the 2009 myself:-

1. It is likely to be cheaper
2. It has a rosewood board
3. The build quality is likely to be more authentic (they weren't CNC machined in the 60's)
4. It will have real authentic knocks and marks through 10 years of use.
5. The neck will be used and potentially feel better as a result

You want a guitar that looks like used guitar; so buy a used guitar ;-)

With 2009 ( 10 years guitar) check for frets worn.

+1

As well, all of the metal parts will be steel, not brass.
