Selling claims that this is a Fender stratocaster mexican dulux 50s reissue, however he mentioned that he was unsure whether or not the neck and the body were originally from the same guitar (I checked the serial number on the neck and the neck at least appears to be legit)

Does anyone have any idea whether or not this looks like a genuine mexican fender?

Any help would be appreciated

It looks to be all original ... EXCEPT ... the neck and body (and likely everything else) look to have been changed out to non-Fender components. There are much more astute experts here than me. I will let them chime in.

Hmmm, a 50’s reissue would have a maple fingerboard and single-ply pickguard. I’d say it’s consistent with a 60’s reissue, although I've never seen one in that color.

Not a chance -- the 12th-fret dot spacing is incorrect for an MIM 60's Classic series.

The centre tremolo cover holes should be staggered
Looks like a Squier body to me

Now, what did the serial tell about the neck? And you used this, didn't you: https://www.fender.com/product-registra ... ial-search
I'm guessing the neck is a legit Fender - it could be for example from a LoneStar or a Blacktop. Anyways, the age of the neck strongly suggests the serial would show up in that Fender database.

The body is not not original to that neck - a Squier body is a strong candidate. The electronics, hardware (…) can't be identified from those pics - better resolution, autopsy pics would help us help you.

So it's a partscaster, and the price should follow that. Could be a very nice guitar, so the buy-or-leave decision depends on that.

And try to figure how to post pics straight on the forum...

I agree with my learned colleagues. Way too many inconsistencies for me to be entirely happy. It would have to be stupid cheap.
