Hi All

A couple of years ago I bought a second hand CS Custom Classic Stratocaster for less than half of what they were selling for at the time, this was due to the fact that it had no COA and the previous owner had fitted a EMG DG20 loaded pick guard, being a David Gilmour fan this wasn't an issue. I knew exactly what I was doing and went in with my eyes open knowing the risk, and this isn't about complaining that the previous owner duped me or anything like that, I did my research and was happy that the guitar was legit. The guitar is stunning and plays beautifully but it turns out I'm not overly kean on the EMG's so would like to return it to it's original config, I've been searching every where to purchase CS pickups and the complete pick guard assembly but can't find the correct pickups any where, according to what I have found out it should have a hot bridge pickup with an inductance plate fitted, does anyone know if these pickups can be purchased from the Fender CS along with the correct pots etc?

Thanks
Chris

As you clearly understand, the no-COA/half price origin raises suspicions, and Fender CS doesn't sell spare parts for anyone - "dedicated to creating complete instruments only" is what they say…
But to get the process started, my suggestion is that you contact Fender Consumer Relations (via support pages).

Your question might get more/better answers on the Let's Talk Custom Shop section.

Those pickups occasionally appear on ebay as a loaded pickguard but they are not available as a part from Fender. :D

You didn't buy the guitar for the pickups.

If the stock pickups were easily available, putting it back to stock to get an idea of what the designers intended would be a fine idea. But they aren't.

There are dozens of quality pickup builders. Most of them offer hotter bridge pickups with baseplates, if you want to go for something similar to stock.

Suhr used to work at the Custom Shop, and his pickups are CS quality, if you want to maintain some CS connectedness.

Hi All

Thanks for the help.

I managed to find the correct CS fully loaded pick guard from Stratosphere in the USA and shipped it to the UK. Happy that I can put it back to factory standard now.

Many thanks all.

Chris
