I have wired up my strat as an Elite Strat with P-rails as humbucker (bridge).

Given the wiring that I'm attaching (the Elite), is there a way to use an on-on-on toggle to give me control of humbucker as:
1) First position single coil (screws)
2) Second position both coils (in series or parallel depending on S-1 position)
3) Third position single coil (rail)

I found some directions on how to get the on-on-on to do what I want but I am uncertain as to if it would integrate with the S-1 properly to allow me to do position 2 (both humbuck) as series or parallel. If it is possible, could somebody help me figure out what to adjust with this diagram please?

In the wiring here, I did convert the Fender humbucker wire colors to SD. Also, there is a typo that I discovered on this with the humbucker wires--the green goes to push-push and red/bare goto ground (pic shows this, but text shows green/bare to ground).

Here's a link to the Elite wiring diagram:

Thanks again for any tips on this. I am hoping to be able to at least be able to have an on-on toggle to give me the option to only have the 'rail' coil active on the humbucker, but the on-on-on idea would be great.

I have another mod question on this project (I'm still curious about the on-on-on toggle though):

With the S-1 Button in up position, the 3rd position of the super switch is middle pickup alone. Is the volume on this setting supposed to be noticeably quieter than other positions, or might there be a wiring issue? I didn't find any using multimeter. The volume is about half of other settings in either S-1 up or down position (more than 50% of some positions). Normal? If not, what should I be checking?

(Neck and mid pickups are gen4 noiseless)

Thanks again!
Jon

PS I'll continue all questions about my Lone Star Strat mod to Elite Strat on this thread

I suppose it could be the odd wiring issue, but I'd be hard pressed to trouble shoot it over the web. If it's supposed to be just one pickup in that position I wouldn't think it would be a phasing issue, though out of phase pickups do have a low output. The multimeter tells all..... Good luck!

Upon reading your other posts, I'm struck by the irony. I just put together a "Lone Star-ish" pickguard to replace the stock setup in my elite. Pearly gates HB and 2 Texas Special Singles. I didn't care for the stock setup with the S-1.....

Ha! AND I'm an Anderson of a different spelling!

Did you stock elite have the issue I am describing? We could've just traded guitars!

As I play through the settings (and noticed the chart that shows what I discovered  ) I realized that the push-push (that I use an on-on toggle for) is nothing other than a "lead" button insomuch that it just bypasses everything other than the humbucker.

I think rather than adding another toggle as on-on-on, I can just replace this on-on and re-wire to give me the 3 options on the humbucker (Triple Shot will be last resort since it is so difficult to easily/quickly/accurately get to those toggles above the humbucker when playing).

The 3 options I am hoping for with the on-on-on are:
1) Up position - Rear (screws) single coil
2) Mid position - Full humbucker
3) Down position - Front (rail) single coil (I use P-rail as humbucker)

I will continue to see if I can find this, but any advice greatly appreciated.

For those wanting to do this, I figured it out (NOTE: this does away with the function of the push-push bypassing everything and just taking humbucker straight to output jack):
1) Get rid of the push-push switch and get a SPDT on-OFF- on switch (or dpdt on-off-on, but you'll only need one side) mini toggle switch
2) Connect the white (hot) wire from the output jack to the center lug (wiper) of the S-1 (remove the current wire from that center lug that goes to the old push-push)
3) I use the P-rails by Seymour Duncan as humbucker so THESE WIRE COLORS ARE FOR Seymour Duncan . . . you'll need to convert for Fender, etc. humbuckers
a) Disconnect all of the humbucker wires from the push-push, and from any ground spots on pots etc.
b) Connect Black wire from humbucker to top lug of on-off-on, then connect the wire that goes to the 5 way super switch to that same lug
c) Connect the Red and White wires from humbucker to the center lug
d) Connect the Green and Bare wires to the bottom lug, then connec that same lug to a ground (back of a pot)

That's it. Use a multimeter in continuity mode to check your connections. Don't forget to use alligator clips as heat sinks on both wires on capacitors that are on the pots when you are grounding new wires.

This was far simpler than I thought because the humbucker is not somehow in the middle of everything-- it goes to the on-off-on first, THEN it goes to the 5 way switch, so it's just a normal coil split before the 5 way, and it connects to the same 5 way lug that the old push-push did.
