Hi All!

I opened up my new/used '17 Elite HSS and the black and white Humbucker wires were connected and unattached to anything. I'd like to have the HB coil tapped when in position 2. As it is, the HB overwhelms the Middle SC and isn't very pleasing. I couldn't see an easy way to do it - but would like to do it without adding a switch or messing up other things too much. Anyone have any sage advice or diagram? Thanks in advance.

I'm no wiring guru, so proceed with caution...

But here's a link to one option by andybighair: https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=67062

And here's one of the rare Fender HSS wirings with an "auto-split". Has no additional switches, has the S1 - but note that the switch is part number 0050610000, while your Elite has the part number 0078776000:

Thanks, brother. That probably was the way to go. However, I decided to build up another pickguard and just replace the stock electronics and leave them intact. I can put them back in if I ever decide to part with this guitar. To be honest, I really wasn't digging the stock pickups setup and while the S-1 switch gives you a bunch of other tones - there's nothing there I found appealing. Went with a Pearly gate HB in the bridge and two Texas Specials - straight five way (with coil split im P2!) and even added the passing lane switch just cuz. I'm very happy now.. Thank you again for the research. Hopefully it will help others.
