Did you mean setting for tone, volume and pickups selector ?

There are no one answer, all setting are a matter of taste.

Play, play and play and you will find settings you like.

Or setting for the guitar? string height, tuning ?

I am not familiar with the Frontman amp but generally you set an amp with the tone (Bass, Middle,Treble) mid way and increase or reduce to taste. Other settings you start at 0 and increase as required.

As far as setting the guitar, watching videos of your favourite players can give clues how they get their sound. The pickup selector switch is refered to from 1 to 5, 1 being the back. Hendrix is reputed to have favoured the neck pickup - position 5. Clapton 4 or 5. Edge 2. Gilmour (with a conventional Strat) 2.

I stand to be corrected but few use position 3 as the middle pickup is mainly used to blend with the bridge or neck pick up 2 or 4 respectively.

I agree somewhat for playing(I use all 5 positions) but for "tuning and intonation adjustments" the middle pickup seems to be the best choice for a balance across all pickups.

Hello new to this site but i would like to help,if you are just starting out and just playing chords your guitar sounds nice on pos. 5 the pup neck.If you are picking notes or learning scales you want it brighter so you can hear each individual note start at position 5 and push the lever back one at a time playing each position at least 5 minutes you wull find the sound you like i started playing in 1963 and except for 2 years in the army never put it down 1966 i bought my first strat. A 1959 white with maple neck except for 3 fret jobs its still plays great and sounds even better today i have 11 other strats but this is my favorite. So enjoy you strat dont get a more exspensive one until you've learned all your theory and chords and scales and if you wait itll be so rewarding when you buy a new one.enjoy and have fun practice every day. Thanks for reading Stratbear.

I agree with everyone so far.
As far as the guitar goes; for a Squire Bullet, I'm 100% certain (unless yours is THE ONE) that, to get the best feel and sound it will eventually need a good setup. I'd play it for a while...have some fun...and then either have a shop set it up, or you can find tons of YouTube videos and general Stratocaster spec's right here at Fender.com

First and foremost...lube the nut immediately (where the strings meet the guitars' head). 3&1 oil, actual nut lube. Even pencil lead. That will help stabilize tuning. Loosen all 6 strings enough to pick them up out of the grooves, and put a drop of oil, lube, rub a pencil, whatever in the grooves, drop the strings back in, and tune it back up. That's your best place to start.

Such is the conflict.
Like putting $700 tires on a $1500 car.
You hate to spend $100 for a setup on a $150 guitar... but the setup would still be needed on a $2000 guitar if you can't do it yourself. It's just a cost of ownership.

On the need for a good setup, I couldn't agree more. With every guitar, in every price class. A factory setup can only go so far.

On the lubing:

One more option: lip balm. Cheap to buy (but usually someone has a stick ready); available in almost any market/shop/kiosk; does the job as well as any commercially marketed high end stuff; and it's the only lube recommended by both Fender and Gibson.

I would not recommend using 3-1 oil, way too liquid and can damage the wood.

Pencil graphite is fine, you could use lip balm like chapstick.
Or more expensive Big Bends Nut Sauce.

I would stick to position 5 or 4 for a while, you may find position 1 bridge pickup to sharp sounding

This is true...but I've been using it for years. Just have to put a drop in each groove, and wipe up any 'dripage' from nut to wood. It's thin...but actually works pretty good if you do it every string change.
To combat any nut sticking, I usually replace the stock nut with a GraphTech Tusque (self lubricating)...but I didn't want to suggest that, because I feel like the OP just wants to play.

Well, I've always used it - on the nut, and trees for that matter. Just apply sparingly!

I understand EVH uses it as well, although I expect that was in the days before he had a tech...

Cheers - Peter.
