hello mates !
somebody help me please !
i'm not in the us, and i want a brand new guitar, the Fender Classic series 50's strat 2tone sunburst,
i've contacted a store in canada, and they said it will cost between 480 $ or 500 $ !! is it possible ? i told them for a fender amplifier too (a frontman 15R), and all the accessories (add strings, strap, cable etc...)
i think it's cheap for a NEW Classic 50's ?!
is it some kind of trap ? or it's possible to get a guitar of that kind for this price ??!! is it some kind of promotionnal offer or what ?!
they said all the gear will cost between (( $ 650 - $ 680))
i just ask if it is possible , that's all ...

please reply , there is not much time until i get punked (or hopefuly NOT ! )
thanks

Greetings Mate,
Its no gimmick. The classic MIM reissues of these classic beauty's are custom shop designed, but made in Mexico and they even have the custom shop logo on the neck plate. I played one myself the other day at Guitar Center and it played sweet and the craftsman ship was flawless. However my experience with ordering guitars has never been good one. I would suggest you make your way to the shop and play as many as you could. There is a bond that the player makes with his instrument and you will know that feeling once you find the right Strat 8)

Happy Hunting!
Rayne

Indeed, this is a fantastic guitar for an even better price. You guys don't know how lucky you are, in Europe these guitars are 30% more expensive!! Here it costs almost 650 euro (which is about 850 US dollars)
without amp, or strap. This guitar plays great, sounds great and looks great, don't hesitate buying it! I would strongly recommand buying it in a shop in your neighbourhood, then you can always go back for service, repairing and other stuff...

The custom shop MIM guitar is called 'Classic Player' Not to be confused with the standard (but very good) 'Classic series' which costs about 1/4 less.

Cheers

Here's a link to what I think you're talking about:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Classic-Player-50s-Stratocaster?sku=512766&src=3SOSWXXB

So $800 online vs. $500 from your contact. It looks like what you are getting is definately a good deal, but not so good as to raise questions. My guess is that this guitar is used, right?

I was in Finnland for work in March-Febuary. You could not believe how much good guitars were.1350 Euro for a good but not great used Tele and I saw a Les Paul that I wouldn't use as tomato stake for 2500Euro. That's about 2k and 3.7k US respectively. It one of the many beni's of living in the states and least we can releive our GAS with out robing a bank. I won't even talk about taxes. We get off pretty easy here. Peace. J.J.B.

Is it a NEW 2008 model, or possibly a leftover older model, store display that's been played, etc.? I got a quote of $525 on a new 2006 that has served as a floor display and been played by a lot of shoppers.

Still, sounds like a good deal.

Good grief, really? Where are you, Miguel - Spain, I assume?

I'm in the UK: £329 is a normal price for the Classic Series that Sergei is talking about - that's about $660 US.

http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=2442

I see that Musician's Friend in America is selling the same guitar for $720. Wow: we'll have Americans coming to the UK to buy Fenders next! Talk about role reversal...

And where are you, Sergei? If you are in Europe, just remember that the EU is going to slap a truckload of duty onto anything you purchase from North America (or anywhere else). That attractive price will be much less of a bargain by the time it arrives on your doorstep. Our governments appear to want us to shop at home, even if it is for American products...

Cheers - C

MiM Standard Strats in America are about $416 (without the tax added). I'd say that extra $70 or $80 for something a bit more beefed up sounds fairly decent. :)

Uh-hu... And what price can you find for a new Classic Series 50s Strat? (Not, as has been pointed out, to be confused with the Classic Players 50s Strat.)

It seems like the prices vary according to region and distributor.
I have not seen the classic series MIM Strat for less than $700 US dollars here in NY. I purchased a MIM Sonic Blue 60's classic series at Sam Ash two weeks ago. The price Tag on this bad boy was $799. To help with the tax the sales rep knocked it down to $720. In the end I still ended up paying $800 due to taxes. I would suggest get the best deal you can, but I would definitely play the guitar before purchase or if it is mail order make sure they have a decent return policy.

If you buy it over the internet you know it comes in a sealed box from Fender, but if you buy if from a dealer you know people are going to pick it up off the hanger and possibly try it out. If it's been played a real lot in the store, chances are it could be a demo or be classified just as well as being a demo.

hi mates !
i'm not in europe, i'm in africa ! i have some family in montreal!
i've been lookin' for just a squier classic vibe 50' in first, and i told the family there to get it for me with all the gear (amps , strap, strings ,case...etc) and i used the net to guide them to a good store there in montreal ! after that, they told me that the squier will cost 450$, and that the MIM classic serie 50' will cost just 50$ more ! (minus all the taxes 'cause the gear will be sent here in africa "DETAX") ! and it will be payed cash ! (they said).. now the deal is done !! now my new guitar is in the house in montreal ! i'll get it soon, i hope there's no problem with it !
