Are there any differences in these bodies (ie. size, shape)? I saw a MIM 50's Reissue body (Alder, 4 lbs 8 oz.) on ebay and it is the exact color I want. I know the # pickguard screw holes vary. I already have a 2006 Standard MIM body and I like it very much but the Sonic Blue is what I really want.

I don't think there would be any difference. The only difference on reissues are the parts like tuners, pickups, possibly tremolo etc.

Hello Cool9,

I do believe the 50's reissue
has SSS routing

not sure about the pickguard screw holes.

Cheers.

Depends how close to vintage the company is going with that. e.g. softer body contours, '57 had a real deep upper bout contour for the waist offset, it was SSS routed and the control cavity did not have the step which was later created to accomodate the additional screws for the pickguard.

Note the step in the control cavity of the body routing on that image. THAT is NOT a 50's body rout. It is a 60's body rout for the purpose noted in my previous post.
