Hey everyone,
I just got a MIM strat yesterday! Unfortunately, it had alot of fret buzz out of the box. I got most of the frets to sound good, except the 11th fret on the B, G, D and A strings. After putting a straightedge on the frets, i noticed the 11th was low so I put tape on it to raise it and now it sounds good, however, it looks really tacky. Is there a better way of fixing this? Thanks!

There are a few options.

Take it back and get it fixed or replaced.

Have the frets leveled.

Have that fret replaced.

Of course this is the worst of all options as it is
slightly invasive to the fretboard.
Isn't it?
I guess that depends on how much leveling it would
take doing a 'fret dress'.
